Nature and Scope of Role
This position is one of a number of sales roles reporting through to the Store Manager and thus forms part of the store team.
The Company is committed to excellent customer service while also achieving set sales and profit targets. The Company will support and train the 3IC / Sales Consultant to be able to achieve these targets. In return, the 3IC / Sales Consultant must be conversant with all Company systems, processes and policies and procedures including the sales and training programme which encapsulates the entire operational system for the day-to-day running of the business.
The primary role of the 3IC / Sales Consultant role is to achieve sales targets through excellent customer service. However this role may also assist the store management team (Store Manager, Assistant Manager, 2IC) with team and front-of-house management as required. This role has key-holding responsibilities.
Being a sales professional, the 3IC / Sales Consultant will be aware of the Company’s profit objectives. Sales targets will be set as part of the sales programme, which is one of the key performance indicators of the operations programme, used to monitor each stores performance.
As 3IC / Sales Consultant, the role may be responsible for motivating, coaching and managing employees using the Company’s performance management and operating systems as directed by, or in the absence of, the store management team.
In conjunction with the store management team, this role will ensure that the Noel Leeming customer service core values, standards and behaviours are consistently delivered in the store for both external and internal customers.
The 3IC / Sales Consultant will act as the front-of-house Visual Merchandise (VM) champion, ensuring store VM standards are met and adhered to.
This role will understand and ensure their performance reflects Noel Leeming’s core values.
The role will be responsible for the coordination of particular projects and promotions with other team members from time to time as directed by the Store Manager.
The 3IC / Sales Consultant will conduct themselves in a professional manner to ensure that the professional image of the Company is projected at all times. Part of the Company’s professional image is to provide 3IC / Sales Consultants with a Company uniform, which must be worn during business hours and at all official Company functions (e.g. training sessions) and supplier events.
The 3IC / Sales Consultant will also be required to assist with or to complete any administrative functions related to the sales process and day-to-day administration of the business in accordance with Company Policy.
The 3IC / Sales Consultant may also be required to drive a Company vehicle to undertake deliveries and other Company business. All Company vehicles must be driven lawfully and in a courteous and safe manner at all times. At least a Restricted Driver’s Licence is required in order to drive company vehicles and the employee must abide by any restrictions and endorsements of their licence. In order to drive company trucks and forklifts, the appropriate licence endorsement is required.
The wellbeing, health and safety of all team members is important to the Company and as such all team members must follow the safe work practices outlined in the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• To have Key Holder responsibility
• To achieve sales and profit targets for the store and Company. This will be done by setting and achieving monthly, weekly and daily sales targets,
• To follow up with all customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
• To follow the Company’s selling process for all sales
• To offer additional products and services to all customers, e.g. warranties and add-ons
• To complete, in a timely and accurate manner, all paperwork and computer work associated with the sales process
• To conduct him/herself in a professional manner at all times, recognising that this also covers the areas of personal presentation, demeanour and driving Company vehicles
• To undertake, where necessary, the delivery of goods to customers, including installation and tuning in accordance with Company outlines and policies
• To maintain and be the VM champion in store
• To assist the Store Manager in ensuring the store team consistently delivers excellent customer
• To support, as directed, the Store Manager with staff supervision responsibilities
• To understand and conform to all Company policies and procedures
• To comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, including immediately reporting any unsafe work conditions, equipment or practices to the Store Manager
• Ensure the delivery of safe work practices and environment for all customers and team members
• To maintain a good level of product level knowledge and to attend Product Knowledge meetings from time to time
