Type Of Break | Entitlement |
Lunch Break | During each full days work lunch breaks of at least 30 minutes are provided for all team members and shall be taken not more than five hours after the start of their work day (for which no remuneration is paid). |
Fifteen Minute Breaks | During each full days work all team members shall be provided with two fifteen (15) minute breaks during each continuous four-hour period. |
Dinner Break | If an team member has worked five (5) hours continuously since a lunch break, then he or she will be entitled to a 30-minute dinner break (for which no remuneration is paid), provided work will continue thereafter. |
Combining Breaks
Breaks may not be combined with, or added to, an team member’s meal period unless special circumstances justify the Manager’s approval.
Key-time employees working a schedule of three and a half hours or less per day shall not be provided with a tea/coffee break period.
To ensure the best possible floor coverage employees are requested to follow the posted meal and tea/coffee break schedules as directed by the Manager. The timing of breaks should reflect our commitment to customer service and be taken at reasonable intervals within the daily work period.
Employees are free to leave the premises or to use the designated staff room (if available) for their meal periods.
Employees may not consume food or beverages while performing their work tasks.
