Career Retailer Wage

Introduction

The ‘Career Retailer Wage’ (CRW) is designed to make working in the retail industry a more attractive career choice and to reward and recognise existing team members who have chosen to make a career with Noel Leeming Group (NLG). The Career Retailer Wage applies to all team members that have completed 5,000 hours OR 5 years of service within TWG (that are currently with NLG) and have completed the required training for their role.

Career Retailer Wage Rates

Career Retailer Wage rates will vary depending on the role. While the Career Retailer Wage differs by role, all eligible team members will have the opportunity to earn at least the Career Retailer Wage. As such the Career Retailer Wage rate consists of your base rate of pay as well as any commissions and incentives that you may earn in your role.
  • For information on FY19 Wage rates (effective 1 August 2018) by role, see NLG T7 CRW Rates Effective August 2018 (attached).
Where an eligible team member is already earning more than the Career Retailer Wage rate for their role then their rate will not be increased.

On moving to a different role, an eligible team member's base rate will be adjusted to the defined Career Retailer Wage base rate for that role. Team members will be required to complete all necessary training for the new role.

Eligibility to receive the Career Retailer Wage

The Career Retailer Wage applies to all permanent team members that have completed 5,000 hours OR 5 years of service within TWG (that are currently with NLG) and completed the required training for their role.

Hours and Employment Status

  • 5,000 hours is based on all the hours of paid work a team members completed since they have been employed within TW Group. While fixed term, temporary or casual employees are not eligible to receive the Career Retailer Wage all paid hours worked will count towards the 5000 hours if, and at the time, when an employee secures a permanent role.
  • 5 years of service is from the team members start date with any brand within TW Group.  (This does not include service worked as a Casual team member)
  • Team members receiving the Career Retailer Wage and who have a change in employment status that results in them becoming a fixed term, temporary or casual team member, then they will no longer be eligible to receive the Career Retailer Wage.

Becoming Eligible to Receive the Career Retailer Wage

  • Team members who become eligible to receive the Career Retailer Wage at any point during the year will receive it effective from the first pay cycle in the first month of the next financial quarter i.e. August, November, February and May.
  • Where a team member ends their employment and then re-joins within a 3-month period, their service will be considered to be ‘continuous’. If service is non-continuous i.e. the employee re-joins more than 3 months after leaving, then the 5000 hours will be started again.

Required Training

You are required to complete the training for your role. Training requirements may change over time with all employees advised of these changes in advance to avoid being disadvantaged.

Conditions

  • There may be exceptional situations where an employee is no longer eligible to receive the Career Retailer Wage; such as leaving your permanent role and becoming a casual. Another example would be if, after repeated requests, you do not complete any additional training that may be required.
  • NLG reserves the right to review and alter any terms and conditions around the Career Retailer Wage. Where possible, NLG will give one month's notice before making substantial changes to the commission scheme. Less notice may be given where the changes are not substantial.
