Introduction The Company is totally committed to providing value-added service to all customers and we believe that the regular attendance of all employees is required to fulfil that commitment and maintain the efficient operations.
What Is Abandonment of Employment An employee who fails to contact their Manager and /or Senior Management to explain an absence, or is absent without good cause, for three (3) or more consecutive days, shall be deemed to have terminated employment.
What Happens After 3 Days? Following an absence of three (3) consecutive days, where the Company has attempted to contact the employee without success, a letter shall be sent to the employee. This letter will notify the employee that their employment has been terminated. A copy of the letter will be filed in the employee’s records.
The letter will also request that the employee comes into their place of work to complete all necessary procedures, including the return of all company property.
Where the employee is contacted and returns to work, normal investigation and disciplinary procedures will apply. Unauthorised absence without good cause is deemed to be serious misconduct and may result in summary dismissal. |
